This is Yosemite Falls in January. It's so cold outside that as the water falls, it freezes and sticks to the cliff walls

I went sea kayaking in Pismo Beach. There was a sea otter just sitting in a kelp bed. We got so close to him I could have touched him. He didn't swim away. We sat there for 15 minutes just watching him. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in nature.

In the summer of 2007 I took my first trip to Europe. This was taken in Paris in front of Notre Dame

We got on the subway in Paris. A man followed us in holding an accordion. When the train started to move, he began to sing and play. This was my favorite thing I saw in this city.
